3 month Saxenda Update

Image
Hello everyone! Sorry it's been awhile since I have posted!! I put this on my video blog the other day but I also wanted to post here that I've decided to post both written and video blog once a month to keep everyone updated. If I get alot of questions then I will post more. In 3 months I lost 28 pounds!!! I'm super excited! I'm still at 1.8. I tried to go up to 2.4 and felt really sick so I went back down to 1.8. My doc is on board and as long as it's working he's cool with me staying at 1.8 I'm hoping to go off my blood pressure meds soon. My bp was the lowest it's been in years at my doc appt last week so that's also exciting!!! Please let me hear from those of you on saxenda about how it's going! Also for those of you thinking about it go ahead and post some questions. I'd love to tell you more about it. I'll post again in a month! Here's my progress pic from start to 3 month pic I can really tell and I know i&

Week 12 and 13 SAXENDA Update!!!

Image
Well I'm super excited to say that as of today I have lost 26.2 pounds! Week 12 I lost 2.2 and this week I lost 2.4! I'm still at 1.8 and feeling fairly normal. I will say this medicine is still working even if I am getting hungry. I feel full after eating small portions AND if I decide to stuff myself (labor day bbq anyone) this medicine lets me know with a nasty case of Sulfur burps.. UGH SO GROSS! So it's a little reminder that it's not good to over eat no matter how tasty the food is. I'm not perfect and I am still making mistakes along this journey but I'm keeping my eyes forward. I can't beat myself up over the days I fail. I need to stay focused and positive. Like i've said before it's a marathon not a sprint. Please share with me how your journeys are going! Oh and I posted a TIPS video on my video blog. Here it is! Hope everyone is doing well! Will post soon!!!

STARTING WEEK 11 OF SAXENDA

Hello everyone! Down .4 this week for a total of 21.6 in 10 weeks!!  .4 is not much but guess what? NOT a gain and it IS a loss. I'm back on track and that feels good. Hoping for a bigger number next week. I am still at 1.8 and pretty much side effect free. I've discovered eating an activia every day keeps everything moving like it should and so I've been feeling pretty good. The only thing that is still lingering a bit is tiredness. I have added back a little caffeine to help combat this. It's not every day but if it's a day I'm particularly tired then I've been drinking about 1/2 a diet coke w/splenda for a little caffeine boost. I've read a lot about people switching up their injection sites but I've stayed with my stomach the whole time and probably will continue to do so. I also have always injected in morning/early afternoon. One thing that is happening that I didn't expect was to feel a little sad about having to stay away from som

Rough week last week and starting week 10 of Saxenda

Image
Well last week was a rough one for me. For some reason my self control was at a 0 last week. Those of you out there who have a true emotional addiction to food can feel my pain. It was as if nothing could satisfy my cravings and all I wanted was the really bad stuff. I indulged.... a lot and I knew it meant the scale yesterday morning would mean no loss but at the time I just gave in. I had to re start my commitment to myself today. There are so many people out there who can't get this medicine because their insurance won't cover it or they get too sick on it to stay on it. I'm blessed that although I have some side effects for the most part I'm good on this medicine and above all it works! So I'm back to the basics this week.  I'm going to try and restrict my carbs, and stay within my 1200 calorie limit. I'm going to drink a lot of water and avoid sweets and fast food. I think I'm so used to failing that before when on a diet whenever I had a rough we

STARTING WEEK 9 OF SAXENDA

Image
Hello all. Sorry I'm a few days late this week. My kids started school on Tuesday so it's taken me a few days to be able to sit down and write. I weighed in Tuesday morning and I was down another 1.6 for a total of 21.2 :-) I'm so excited!! I will warn any people that are thinking of starting this medicine that if you overeat the medicine WILL let you know. Last night I was super hungry and I allowed myself a little extra food before bed... well woke up with nasty burps and heartburn. For me it's a reminder that my body didn't need that and I need to find a way to deal with those late night cravings. I'm still working on self control and I know it will take a while. I'm still not down a size in pants yet so I was a little discouraged but I just have to keep reminding myself..... As long as I keep that in mind it keeps me going. I just need to keep taking it day by day and the weight WILL come off. Well until next week! BYE!

STARTING WEEK 8 OF SAXENDA

Image
I'm a day behind but I have been crazy busy getting my kids and house ready for school to start next week! I'm super excited to say that I lost 2.2 last week! I'm down 19.6!!! I had my 6 week check up with my doctor and he was super pleased as well. I had a very very bad night last week. I chose to eat a Noble Romans ham and cheese sandwich. That night I thought I was dying.. ok maybe not dying but it was horrible. It could have been food poisoning the way I felt, but I honestly think it was that the sandwich was too greasy. I was up most of the night with horrible stomach pain, puking...etc.... Not fun. I did remember thinking "food is NOT this important." So it helped me to regain my focus on making sure I am eating healthier. I will allow myself some of those greasy things once I'm off meds but for right now I can forgo it . I didn't do my shot for 2 days while my body recovered but then I got right back at it at 1.8 and I've been feeling good

STARTING WEEK 7 OF SAXENDA

Image
Well it looks like my body has adjusted to weight loss and is gradually staring to go back down. I lost .6 this past week for a total of 17.2 pounds. Not as much as I would have liked but as long as the scale is going down and not up I'm going to take it and be happy. Especially considering I traveled this past weekend and spent about 15 hours on the road with no healthy food around. My side effects are all gone except for constipation which is the primary problem with this medication for most people. I definitely need to add more vegetables and fiber into my diet, but for now I take colace daily. One positive from the medicine is I still get full really quickly which is helping me with my portion control. My kids all start school in 2 weeks so i'm hoping that will free me up to having time to exercise. That's the one area I desperately need improvement on. I'm going to do a blog here soon that is a breakdown of what I eat, how and when I do my shot, side effects
